ShelterPhysics is a resource for high school physics students at all levels, being built by a retired teacher with over 40 years of teaching, engineering and IT experience.
ShelterPhysics promotes physics as a process: a way of thinking about the world. While focus on topics in physics is unavoidable—picking a topic is how we relate our experiences of the world to what physicists have to say about them—insights into the physical world arise from humans doing physics.
If we guide students' focus only toward outcomes, and not toward the lines of reasoning that lead to those outcomes, we skip the most important and useful aspect of an education in physics.
Simulations and Tools
Simulations allow for visualization of action in the real world, leading us to better understanding of how physics guides what we see and experience. Two such simulations are in beta testing and available for you to... well, learn from, mess around with, enjoy, and comment on.
