Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Sheltermouse Solutions LLC ("we," "us") governing your use of ShelterPhysics, a web-based physics simulator (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The service
ShelterPhysics is a web-based tool for building and running physics (mechanics) simulations. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time.
2. Eligibility
The Service is intended for users in the United States. You may use the Service — including building, running, and exporting or importing models — without an account. To create an account (which requires an email address), you must be at least 13 years old. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Accounts
- Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to verify your email address when asked.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
- Accounts are for individuals; do not share them.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: break the law or infringe others' rights; disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service; probe or scrape it in ways that harm it or other users; upload malicious code; or misuse other users' content or information. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the models and other content you create. To operate and promote the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, publicly display, and distribute the content you submit — including the right to make a model publicly available (for example, in a public gallery of example models). You represent that you have the rights to grant this license for the content you submit. You can export your content using the Service's export feature, and you can delete it. You are responsible for keeping your own backups — see the disclaimer in Section 9.
6. Voluntary support (donations)
The Service may offer a way to support the site with a voluntary contribution (a "tip"). Contributions are gifts to help cover the costs of running the service. They are not a purchase of goods or services, confer no goods, services, membership, or benefits in return, and are non-refundable. Contributions are not tax-deductible unless we state otherwise. No account is required to contribute. A contribution is a gift only and does not create an account or unlock features — for a free account to save your work, see Section 7.
7. Accounts, saving, and paid features
You can create a free account to save your work.
- Free saving, with limits. A free account can save a limited number of models. If you would like a higher limit, contact us. Saving is offered free at this time and may change in the future.
- Keep your own copies. We do not guarantee that saved work will be retained indefinitely. You can export your models at any time, and we encourage you to do so.
- Paid features (future). We may introduce paid features or a paid plan later — for example, higher save limits or additional capabilities. If we do, the price and terms will be shown before you pay and this agreement will be updated. We do not offer paid plans at this time.
8. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and text (but excluding your content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for its intended purpose. Do not copy, modify, or reverse engineer the Service except as permitted by law.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will never be lost. Please export and keep your own copies of anything important.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.
11. Termination and discontinuation
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice, and we may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. We are not liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service — so please export and keep your own copies of anything important. We may delete inactive accounts after a period of inactivity, with prior notice where practical. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and limitation of liability) will survive.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and/or an in-app notice before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located there for any dispute not subject to other agreed resolution.
